Automatic Reboot Mikrotik Router Board | Using the System Scheduler
Automating the reboot of a MikroTik RouterBoard can be done using a scheduled script. Here’s how you can set it up:
Steps to Automate Reboot on MikroTik RouterBoard:
Access Your MikroTik Router:
- Log in to your MikroTik Router via Winbox or the web interface.
Create a Script:
- Go to the "System" menu and click on "Scripts."
- Click on the "+" button to add a new script.
- Name the script something like
auto-reboot. - In the "Source" field, enter the following command:plaintext
/system reboot - Click "OK" to save the script.
Schedule the Script:
- Go to the "System" menu and click on "Scheduler."
- Click on the "+" button to add a new scheduler.
- Name the scheduler something like
daily-reboot. - Set the "Start Date" and "Start Time" to the desired reboot time.
- In the "Interval" field, set the interval for when the reboot should occur (e.g.,
1d 00:00:00for a daily reboot). - In the "On Event" field, enter the name of the script you created (
auto-reboot). - Click "OK" to save the scheduler.

If you want the router to reboot every day at 3:00 AM:
- Script Name:
auto-reboot - Script Source:
/system reboot - Scheduler Name:
daily-reboot - Start Time:
03:00:00 - Interval:
1d 00:00:00 - On Event:
auto-reboot
Notes:
- Make sure that the time on your router is set correctly. You can configure this under "System" > "Clock."
- You can also use the NTP client to synchronize the router’s clock with an NTP server.
