Mikrotik Hotspot Configuration
To configure Hotspot on MikroTik, follow these steps:
Connect to the MikroTik router using Winbox.
Click on the "IP" tab from the left-hand side menu and then click on "Hotspot".
In the Hotspot window, click on "Setup".
In the Hotspot Setup window, enter a name for the Hotspot in the "Hotspot Name" field.
Configure the Hotspot network settings such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. This IP address will be used by the clients to access the Internet.
Under the "Hotspot Server Profiles" section, click on the "default" profile.
In the "General" tab, set the "Hotspot Address" to the Mikrotik router's IP address.
In the "Login" tab, select the login method you want to use. The options include HTTP PAP, HTTPS, and Trial.
In the "SMTP" tab, enter the SMTP server settings to enable email notifications.
In the "Users" tab, create user accounts to be used for authentication.
In the "IP Bindings" tab, specify which IP addresses are allowed or denied access to the Hotspot.
In the "Walled Garden" tab, add URLs or IP addresses to allow users to access certain sites or services without authentication.
In the "Profiles" tab, configure the bandwidth and other settings for different user groups.
Once you have configured the Hotspot, click on "OK" to save the changes.
Go to the "IP" tab and click on "DNS". Add the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) in the "Servers" field.
Go to the "IP" tab and click on "Firewall". Create a new firewall rule to allow traffic from the hotspot clients to the Internet.
